We got word yesterday that our dossier had been submitted to the Ministry of Education in the region we are adopting from. They said we should hear within a week if all the paperwork is okay or if we need to send anything else.
It feels good for things to be moving forward!

Dossier is on its way!
Yipeeee! What a happy valentine's day! We got word yesterday that they mailed off our dossier. They are going to let us know when it gets there. It should be about a week.
I set up a little dress-up station in the basement for the girls, and while they were trying it out, I couldn't help but get excited about having a new little one to enjoy it as well.

Blog Remodel
So, the guilt of having a very boring, boiler plate blog design finally overcame me last night and here is the result. Actually taking the time to design it was a gift I gave myself as it was my 30th birthday. Aaaaaah! Twenty-nine somehow seems much younger than thirty! :)
As I was finding graphics for my blog banner, I was impressed with the fact that Russia really does have a very rich history and beautiful culture! I am blown away everytime I look on the map and see how immense the country is.

still waiting
Our agent told me today that it would probably be 2-3 weeks before our dossier will fly across the great divide. :(
Our agency is very experienced in the region we are adopting from; however, about a year and a half ago Russia stopped renewing all the adoption agencies accreditation. Basically that meant that hardly anybody could adopt from Russia. Our agency's accreditation was one of the first to come through around Thanksgiving 2007. This was perfect timing for us, as we had just finished our homestudy. So we hurried to get the rest of the dossier completed. Apparently we will be one of the first ones to go with the new accreditation, so there are a few rings to jump through.
Today I was playing with Alex and decided to practice some of my Russian on him. He loved it! He started laughing everytime I said a few words. Now that I think about it, that could be a commentary on my pronunciation! :) By the way, the pronunciation for "I love you" in Russian is "yah lyou-BLYOU te-BYAH."
